Designing your home to look amazing is the fun part of furnishing a holiday home, but before you can move into the design process, you should know what pieces of furniture you will need to bring your vacation home up to par.
I was the manager of a vacation rental furniture company specializing in turn-key furniture packages. In that time, I furnished thousands of resorts and vacation rental properties. I have created a list, or any inventory cheat sheet, that spells out every piece of furniture we would include in a furniture package. You’re going to need housewares, pots, pans, dishes, and more.
This list will help you shop for furniture and understand how many pieces of each item are standard for the vacation rental industry. Trust me, this list will save you several stops back and forth to stores because you forgot a salt & pepper shaker or something small like a dustpan.
You will also be able to execute the project more quickly and with a higher level of efficiency when you know exactly what you’re getting.
Be sure to print out this furniture checklist and cross the items off the list as you pick them up. Print out an extra furniture checklist just in case you lose the original checklist in the mayhem.
