One thing you can expect to never change about Vacation Rental Marketing is that change will always happen.
Today I’d like to share with you one big change that will be happening… and Google is behind it!
As of April 21, 2015 Google will be adjusting their algorithm once again.
It’s beeing called Google’s Mobile Armageddon!
Google will begin to de-index or prioritize your vacation rental websites lower in their mobile search results if your website is not mobile-friendly or responsive. This means you’re website is likley to dissapear from the view of travelers searching for a vacation rental like yours.
Mobile search is becoming more popular than desktop search. This is a serious problem for those whose websites are not mobile friendly.
Google is all about providing great content and a great experience for those who use Google search.
If your website is not optimized for mobile viewers, Google does not want to send travelers to your vacation rental website. Plain and simple.
This change in Google’s algorithm is how Google makes people conform.
You either get your website to become mobile friendly or stop receiving traffic from Google.
It’s the beginning of the end for websites that are not mobile friendly.
We are moving into the future folks…is your website ready?
If your website is not mobile friendly but you are using Google Analytic (which I highly recommend everyone use,) then you can take a look at how many visitors land on your website using mobile devices and get an idea of how you’ll be affected if you were to lose that percentage of mobile traffic.
Good news is there are a couple of things you can do.
Option number one- recreate a new website for your vacation rental business that is optimized for mobile viewers or…..
Option number two – take the current website you’re using and make it into a mobile friendly website.
