Guess what?
The Vacation Rental League has been invited to speak at the largest vacation rental industry conference in Florida! WooHoo!
It’s an awesome feeling to see something you’ve worked so hard on finally yield the results you wanted. It’s official the Vacation Rental Expert Panel is a hit!
After the release of our most recent expert panel episode with Tyann and Mercedes, I was contacted by the Director of the Florida Vacation Rental Managers Association ( FVRMA) and he said he’d noticed my work and said he liked what he saw.
He also said he would like to invite myself and the team to educate hundreds of property managers about how they can improve their bookings and income by incorporating “The Power Of 3”.
Since it is myself, Jay William the Marketer, Tyann the Photographer and Mercedes The Interior Designer we are calling our session The Power Of 3.
Oh… and we are accompanied by all-stars including 3 time Gold Medalist from San Diego, California Oz Sanchez
All the major tourism chiefs of the industry including the folks at Visit Tampa Bay, Visit Sarasota, Visit Central Florida & Visit Florida
Florida Senator Jeffrey Brandes
John Suzuki of HomeAway
And many more of the industry’s most respected professionals. It’s an honor to be selected for such an opportunity and to get the chance to work with truly amazing and insanely gifted people in the hospitality business. It’s enough to make my Momma proud.
It’s always nice to be validated by such a major 3rd party authority. The FVRMA is not some chintzy convention nor is it something new and unestablished.
The folks at the FVRMA are the real deal! The FVRMA conference is also very reasonably priced at $169 which I find to be a huge value and less than other conferences.
The best part is that you can come and meet myself and the experts at the FVRMA event.
Side note: I’ve got something really huge coming up that I can’t share just yet but I will be announcing some big news that I am extremely excited about. I’ll share that with you once all is finalized. It will be something we will all benefit from. Keep your ears to ground for that one.
I started the vacation rental expert panel series over a year now. It has taken effort to establish and also a commitment to nurture. Success doesn’t come overnight! It takes time, actually it takes the same 3 really important things I talked about in the post I wrote called the 3 Step Process To Harvesting Bookings.
The Vacation Rental Expert Panel
If you’ve disappeared off the face of the earth for a while and happened to miss the Vacation Rental Expert Panel episodes, you gotta watch those here – tons of super helpful material delivered in a fun way.
This opportunity wouldn’t have been possible if I didn’t put in the work to make these connections, networked with others, created partnerships and alliances in this industry and nurtured those relationships.
That’s what I really want you to get out of this post and to also encourage you to get out there and do the same for your vacation rental business.
Go to events in the vacation rental industry, reach out to people, network, guest blog, invite someone to blog on your blog, call inquiries, get in contact with people.
The vacation rental game is a contact sport – the more people you get in contact with people the better your chances are of “winning” the game.
Now, when you’re out there networking you’ll want to be prepared so make sure you carry business cards everywhere and if you haven’t yet, create a well polished website to lead people to, right away.
You never know when you’ll run into a potential lead or contact. Business cards are often overlooked but they shouldn’t be. Did you know business cards are the most effective direct marketing tools. That’s why I just redesigned my own business cards. Here is what they look like
(still tweaking them..)
Swapping contact information digitally is impersonal, but a handshake and a vacation rental business card can go a long way, you go, be a social butterfly!
You’d be surprised what happens when you get out from behind the computer and reach out to people. Did you know marketers rated live events among the most effective marketing strategies?
Live events give you the chance to connect with key-prospects and customers. There is no substitute to getting out there and connecting with people for a mutual benefit but you’d have to try it to agree.
Another way you can network with people in the vacation rental industry is to attend community events like HOA and resort meetings. You can also join online vacation rental communities where you can meet other owners and managers who you may be able to later work with sort-of-like Tyann, Mercedes and myself are doing.
One powerful thing you should be doing as part of your vacation rental marketing plan is to guest blog. Guest blogging is when you write a post on another person’s blog.
Guest blogging is one of the best ways to engage your audience and grow your business. You can get a lot of quality traffic this way and you can even get published in big blogs. It’s also a great way to establish yourself as an authority figure in the industry.
Denis found my vacation rental marketing information through social media. It reiterates the power of social media and is yet another reason why we all should be using it.
Social media is the perfect place to make connections with people and develop relationships. Are you networking with people regularly? If you aren’t you are limiting your reach.
So forget about the fear of failure make connections with people and create partnerships. And remember the best partnerships are those that bring value to each person in that partnership. It isn’t a one way street.
What are you waiting for? Get out there and expand your business!
